Risk Assessments

Risk Assessments Services

Employers are required to assess and manage risks arising from their work activities. A suitable and sufficient risk assessment should identify hazards, consider who may be harmed and set out the control measures required to reduce risk.

Wooltown Safety Services can prepare and review practical risk assessments for construction activities, workplace hazards, plant, equipment and project-specific work.

Site-Specific Risk Assessments

Generic risk assessments can provide a useful starting point, but they may not reflect the actual site conditions, work sequence, equipment, workforce or hazards involved in a particular activity.

Wooltown Safety Services can adapt assessments to the specific project or workplace so that the control measures reflect the work that will actually be carried out.

What should a suitable and sufficient risk assessment include?

A suitable and sufficient risk assessment should identify the significant hazards associated with the work, consider who may be harmed and how, evaluate the level of risk and record the control measures required to reduce that risk. It should also identify any further actions that are needed and be reviewed where there has been a significant change, following an incident or where there is reason to believe the assessment is no longer valid.

Risk Assessment Reviews

Existing risk assessments should be reviewed where there has been a significant change, where an incident has occurred or where there is reason to believe the assessment is no longer valid. We can review existing documents for gaps, outdated controls or inconsistencies with current site arrangements.
