Competent Person Support

What Is a competent person?

Under Regulation 7 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, employers must have access to one or more competent persons to assist them in meeting their health and safety obligations.

A competent person is someone with sufficient training, knowledge, experience and other relevant qualities to identify health and safety risks and provide practical, proportionate advice. The level of competence required will depend on the nature and complexity of the work being undertaken.

Competent person support

Wooltown Safety Services can act as a competent person for your business, providing professional health and safety advice and ongoing support appropriate to your activities and level of risk.

Support can include reviewing your existing arrangements, identifying areas for improvement, advising on legal responsibilities and assisting with the development of suitable policies, procedures and risk controls.

This provides businesses with access to competent health and safety assistance without the need to employ a full-time in-house adviser.

Contact Wooltown Safety Services to discuss your requirements.
