Contractor Pre-Qualification

Contractor pre-qualification

Effective contractor management starts with ensuring that those appointed are competent, appropriately resourced and capable of carrying out the work safely.

A structured pre-qualification process helps businesses assess a contractor’s health and safety arrangements, competence, experience and supporting documentation before they are engaged or permitted to begin work.

What is a contractor pre-qualification questionnaire?

A contractor pre-qualification questionnaire, commonly referred to as a PQQ, is used to assess whether a contractor has suitable health and safety arrangements, competence, resources and supporting documentation before they are appointed. It may include checks on policies, training, insurance, risk assessments, method statements, accident history, plant arrangements and relevant accreditations.
